ARBIDOL (Umifenovir) is a potent immunomodulating and antiviral drug that is used to treat and prevent influenza, severe acute respiratory syndromes, respiratory syncytial virus and upper respiratory tract infections caused by influenza virus A and B. DESCRIPTION
Arbidol is broad-spectrum medication that provides immunomodulating and antiviral action. It induces interferon synthesis, stimulates both humoral and cellular immunity, enhances phagocytic activity of macrophages. Inhibits the replication of all subtypes influenza A and influenza B viruses, including H1N1, H2N2, H3N2, H9N2, H6N1 and H5N1. It works by suppressing the fusion of the virus lipid envelope with the cell membrane, which blocks the blocks the entry of virus into target cells. Arbidol increases resistance of the body to viral infections, prevents the development of complications, enhances immune system functions.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Arbidol comes in the form of tablets. Each tablet contains the active substance – arbidol (ethyl 6 – bromo 5 – hydroxy 1 – methyl 4 – dimethyl 2 – phenylmethyl 3) – 100 or 200 mg

For oral administration before the meals.

Dosage:
Prevention of influenza and RVI: adults and children over 12yo – 200mg/day. Treatment duration – 10-14 days.
Treatment of influenza and RVI not accompanied by complications: adults and children over 12 years – 200 mg 4 times/day (every 6 hours). Duration – 5 days.
Treatment of influenza and RVI, complicated by bronchitis, pneumonia: adults and children over 12 years – 200 mg 4 times/day (every 6 hours) for 5 days, then take 200 mg 1 time per week for 4 weeks.
