DESCRIPTION
SELANK is a synthetic heptapeptide that consists of 7 amino acids (threonine-lysine-proline-arginine-proline-glycine-proline). Being the analogue of tuftsin – the endogenous peptide – selank mimics a lot of its effects. It works by modulating dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine systems, as well as providing potent effects on the immune system. Selank was also observed to have neuroprotective and neuroregenerative properties and is able to modulate the expression of brain-derived neurotropic factor (BDNF).
