DESCRIPTION
Cortexin is a complex of polypeptide fractions penetrating the blood-brain barrier and affecting nervous cells. Has a neuroprotective effect and reduces toxic impact of psychotropic agents. Due to its antioxidative action Cortexin inhibits oxidative stress. The drug improves the bioelectrical activity of the brain. Mechanism of action of Cortexin is determined by activation of neuronal peptides and neurotrophic cerebral factors; optimization of metabolic balance of excitatory and inhibitory amino acids, dopamine, serotonin; and GABAergic action.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE
Cortexin comes in the form of vials. Each vial contains 5 or 10 mg (3 or 5 ml) of Cortexin solution.
For intramuscular injections.
Before injection dissolve content of vial in 1-2 ml of 0.5 % procain (novocain) solution, or water for injection or 0.9% sodium chloride solution and inject once daily:
For adults – 10 mg per day, during 10 days; for children weighing less than 20 kg – 0.5 mg/kg, over 20 kg – 10 mg per day, during 10 days.
If necessary, the course is repeated after 3-6 months.
STORAGE
Store in dry place, 2-20 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
